New version of ADB does not recognize iBall Slide 6309i (Android 4.1.1)

Device: iBall Slide 6309i

Platform: Android 4.1.1

OS tested (on PC): Win XP, Win 7 x64, Win 8 x64, Ubuntu 13.04

ADB drivers installed and working. * USB debugging enabled. *

Problem: My device is detected using ADB v1.0.26. But when I try to use any of the later versions, such as 1.0.29, 1.0.31, the device is not detected. This is the same in all the OSs I tested. An older version of ADB does not have some key features, such as backup, restore. Therefore, I am forced to use the new version without joy. I cannot find a way to trick a new version of ADB into detecting my device. Please offer a solution to my problem.

adb has a hard-coded whitelist of USB provider identifiers. If the manufacturer of this device is not included in this list, you need to add the Vendor ID provider identifier in the format 0xffff to ~/.android/adb_usb.ini (or %USERPROFILE%\.android\adb_usb.ini on Windows). For more information, check adb device discovery p.
