LESS syntax highlighting and intellisense stopped working in VS2012

I am running a Visual Studio 2012.3 update.

Today, when I launched the IDE and opened the LESS file, the syntax highlighting did not work. Also there was no intellisense when editing it.

Web Essentials seems to work when the CSS preview pane is displayed and the code in it is highlighted with syntax. And I can also set the properties of Web Essentials in Options, and they really apply.

What's wrong? Does anyone face the same problem?

LESS has been ported to ASP.NET and Web Tools 2012.2, which you can read about and download here: http://www.asp.net/aspnet/overview/aspnet-45/aspnet-and-web-tools-20122-release -notes

It is unclear why Web Essentials continues to say that it has LESS. The change log indicates that the LESS editor has been reset to 2.5. This is the only place I could find in this mention: http://madskristensen.net/post/Web-Tools-20122-and-Web-Essentials.aspx
