Does WebSockets have bandwidth?

Just wondering - does WebSockets have a limit on how fast you can transfer data through data? Can you transfer more data with a pool of sockets against a single socket, or is this limiting only the speed of the client Internet connection independently?

Thanks!

The exact answer probably depends on which WebSocket applications you use, but in general there should be no restrictions on the bandwidth of WebSocket. There are some minor overheads regarding cropping, checking UTF8 (text messages only), and masking (only client messages to the server) that are not present in the raw TCP binary connection. With a sufficient processor, they should scale to the available bandwidth.
