How to emulate an IE8 environment?

I am developing an asp.net website on IE10 / Windows 8 + VS2012

Users noticed some artifacts, and they use IE8. If I use the F12 tools and install the site in IE8, I do not see it. I need real IE8 for dev / test /

You can install VirtualPC images with different versions of IE for free. This page is provided by Microsoft.

press F12 in Internet Explorer to activate the debugger, find the emulator mode and select your version

Tip for those using WIndows 10: By default, you get MS Edge in the taskbar, not in IE. Just open the website on Edge, go to the settings in the upper right corner and select "Open with Internet Explorer." You can then plug in a new IE window to open it next time. Only in this IE window can you choose to emulate other versions of IE.
