How to access journal output from a real Windows Phone 8 device

I need to access the crash log on a Windows Phone 8 device.

I just deployed the XAP file there and was installed successfully, but it seems to crash on startup.

I was just starting out with wp8 development and was looking for something similar to logcat for android.

Any tips for getting information? My whole search showed only information for debug output ...

I have Visual Studio 2012 Express if this helps ...

There is no built-in crash log for wp applications unless it is published in a store where you can access these logs for registered applications.

You will need the source code unless the original developer has completed the crash reports sent by email or downloaded elsewhere.

Note that if you deployed the xap deployment tool, you can check the IsolatedStorage for the application using a tool such as Windows Phone Power Tools . The original developer may be reporting unhandled exceptions.
