Camera preview shows unwanted fragments only on Android 4.2.2 (S4, full screen HD)

Question

My application works with many devices, but 2 users send me images similar to images. As far as I know, the behavior is observed only on Android 4.2.2 (Samsung S4).

On full HD screen, there seem to be 3 compressed tiles measuring 160x600 pixels. I tried AVD with full HD screen, but it does not start. On devices 4.03 I do not see this. I do not use tiles. Can someone tell me what and where is this happening?

This is similar to a possible error in the Android platform on Samsung S4 devices with that particular version of Android. My experience tells me that this is a very real opportunity. It may also be that you are doing something wrong in your application, which causes only actual problems in this version (and, possibly, even on this device), but this is not mentioned. Android 4.2.2 should be backward compatible with 4.0.3, therefore, in general, it should also work with a later version.

I would advise you (or anyone in the same situation) to try it on other devices with the same version of Android, if possible. Also, check that you are not violating anything in the Android API documentation.
