How to combine exe and msi files into one setup?

I am creating a customization using the visual studio customization project, it will create two files: one is msi and the other is exe. but I want to create one file using this.

I would watch IExpress. This is a built-in tool in many versions of Windows that you can use to create a self extracting directive file. You simply add msi and setup.exe and choose to run setup.exe.

This tool creates a SED file that can be run in the event after the build, so you do not need to do this manually after each build.

You can follow the instructions in this lesson: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k976yEXX11k

You just need to clear the Create installation program check box to install the necessary components in the Deployment Project Properties - but consider carefully the value of this parameter.

If you do not create the setup.exe file, your program cannot be installed on machines that do not have some or all of your prerequisites.

Also, keep in mind that setup projects are no longer supported in VS2012, so it’s now worth the time to study other authoring settings, such as WiX.

If you have .msi then this is normal. The reason older pc versions do not support msi will generate .exe. Try both of them separately.
