Android Eclipse DDMS> Heap> Cause GC greyed out

I cannot click the Cause GC button on the Heap tab in the DDMS Outlook in Eclipse because it is inactive.

I am using ADT v22 (Eclipse / Android / ADT package) on OS X. The device I am using is S3.

The sequence of steps: 1. The deployed application from Eclipse 2. The selected process in DDMS 3. Click the "Heap of updates" button 4. The "Heap" tab is open, but the Cause GC is grayed out. I assume that this is due to the fact that no data filled the heap tab (there is no client to select and there are no objects in the list).

Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Try running 'adb kill-server' and 'adb start-server' inside '/ platform-tools /'. Get help from http://developer.android.com/tools/help/adb.html

I ran into the same problem. If I press DDMS in Eclipse, the Gause GC will be grayed out and cannot be executed. However, DDMS also comes in the tools / Android SDK directory. Everything is fine if I type ddms (or. / Ddms on Mac / Linux) from the tools / directory.
