How to install visual studio documentation offline?

I am trying to download documentation using the Visual Studio Help Library Manager . It just gets stuck after loading 2 of 5 books, and there is no way to pause and resume. Does anyone know where I can get the full documentation for downloading and installing offline?

You can install the documentation manually from the itsef installation folder. It is available in the ProductDocumentation folder. you need to open a file with the extension .msha

The answers above are not entirely clear on how to β€œinstall” help. I had to search a bit to find out how ... I hope my answer will be useful to beginners ...

As mentioned in "Prakash GPz", the documentation is already present in the dvd for Visual Studio 2010. If you want to install it after starting Visual Studio 2010, you need to follow these steps:

  • Launch Visual Studio 2010
  • Go to the Help menu
  • Click Manage Help Settings
  • Since help cannot be initialized for you, you will need to set the location of the Help3 content (just accept the default shown)
  • Select "Install Content From Disk"
  • Go to the "ProductDocumentation" folder under the DVD drive.
  • Select the file HelpContentSetup.msha
  • Click "Add" in each section of the help (or click "Add for ALL sections") that you would like to have locally.
  • Installation will take some time, but after everything is done, you will get local help!
