The answers above are not entirely clear on how to βinstallβ help. I had to search a bit to find out how ... I hope my answer will be useful to beginners ...
As mentioned in "Prakash GPz", the documentation is already present in the dvd for Visual Studio 2010. If you want to install it after starting Visual Studio 2010, you need to follow these steps:
- Launch Visual Studio 2010
- Go to the Help menu
- Click Manage Help Settings
- Since help cannot be initialized for you, you will need to set the location of the Help3 content (just accept the default shown)
- Select "Install Content From Disk"
- Go to the "ProductDocumentation" folder under the DVD drive.
- Select the file HelpContentSetup.msha
- Click "Add" in each section of the help (or click "Add for ALL sections") that you would like to have locally.
- Installation will take some time, but after everything is done, you will get local help!
