Twitter Bootstrap - Mobile Only?

I am creating a website for a client who must have a mobile version. They already have a website right now that they want to save, but just want a completely different version for mobile devices - so I was wondering if Twitter Bootstrap can be disabled so that it uses only the mobile aspect of the structure?

I apologize if my question does not make sense, if he does not, feel free to ask more questions and I will try to explain myself better.

To summarize, I just want to create a mobile version of the site using Twitter Bootstrap, but ONLY for the mobile version - the desktop version is not required, since it already exists in the client domain.

As Robin2k mentioned, the file "bootstrap-responsive.css" / "bootstrap-responsive.min.css" will make your site work well on most mobile devices.

If you want to shorten the script just to reduce load time, the best advice I can give you is:

  • Be sure to use the .min.css and .min.js , they are much smaller

  • Try CloudFlare , they will cache and compress your boot files to significantly increase the speed of your site

you can use twitters is a property that only displays items on the mobile size. then the page size will increase, it will hide the whole page. and no one could see it on the desktop version. http://twitter.imtqy.com/bootstrap/scaffolding.html#responsive

As a starting point, you can definitely use the mobile parts of Twitter Bootstrap.

The more important question is: what is the purpose of a single mobile site? Why does the user need other content on the phone or laptop or on the desktop? The most convenient way for the future is to make the current site responsive / adaptive so that the same content is there, but adapted for small screens.

Just my 2c, but you can definitely cut out parts of Bootstrap that you don't like.

For the client, to a mobile site offering a different experience, is completely understandable. Access to the website through a mobile or desktop computer presents two use cases, and depending on these use cases, there may be functions of the site that the user will or may not care about, depending on the device he uses to access it. Therefore, one size fits all - it is not always the best choice.
