.htaccess give 404 Not found when url in SEO oriented url

Question

I use opencart fresh install and use the theme here . After I turn on the SEO setting in admin and rename the .htaccess file, then set the SEO keyword, I can’t open my product page. It shows error 404 not found.

If your htaccess file is here: http://203.223.152.159/~happymas/ , and your rewrite database is set to / , then it tries to rewrite to http://203.223.152.159/index.php , which does not exist ( result 404).

You need to set the rewrite base to /~happymas/ until you move it to / :

 RewriteBase /~happymas/
