Adding a self-signed certificate to the Heroku app

I am trying to add a self-signed certificate to one of my Heroku applications. I followed the guides from Dev Center.

After I created a self-signed certificate, I try to add a heroku certs certificate: add server.crt server.key

And you get the error message: Resolving the trust chain ... failed! Domain certificate certificate is not specified.

I am not sure what this means or how to solve the problem.

You must install CN in the domain for which you issue the certificate.
