Background color, notepad ++ for highlighting purposes

Is there a way in Notepad ++ to highlight a piece of text and change its background color? I would like this color to remain in the editor for highlighting purposes. I do not want the color to change the code at all.

You can get the desired effect by right-clicking on the selected fragment and choosing "Style Symbol" → "Using the (n) -th Style".

It will also highlight any other sections of your code that are identical to the one you selected, which may or may not be what you want. However, the selection will remain only until you open this file in Notepad ++. If you close it, you lose the selection.

In Notepad ++

First select the line / words to be highlighted

Go to the Search menu

Select Mark All. There you will find 5 submenus: "using the [1..5] th style".

(using 1st style: blue color). (Second: light brown). (Third: yellow). (4th: purple). (5: green).

However, the highlight will remain only until you open this file in Notepad ++. If you close it, you lose the selection.

You can also define a language that sets the fragment as a keyword and select a style for it.
