How can I change the title of work items in TFS in bulk?

I have a work in progress (PBI) log entry in TFS in which there are several work in progress (SBT) log tasks in a grid.

How can I change the title of the elements in this grid without opening each separately in the preview or otherwise?

This is possible, because when choosing WorkItem, in the half-screen below you will have your data and, therefore, you can change it. Once you're done, you can save everything in one Ctrl-S

The best way:

I did this by exporting the query result to MS Excel, quickly changing several columns and rows; then publish the whole with one click.

For Visual Studio 2010, 2013, the following will work:

  • Open the list of items that you want to change in the Visual Studio / Team Explorer tab. This can be done with a new query.
  • Select all the elements (of the same type) that you want to change.
  • Click the Open in Microsoft Office drop-down list, or right-click on one of the selected task items and select Open in Microsoft Excel.
  • Edit the fields of interest using the standard Excel functions to copy / paste or replace.
  • Click the Publish button in the upper left corner in Excel.
  • After that, click on the "Refresh" icon at the top of the window for viewing your product in Visual Studio.
  • Your updated / changed percentage records will now be displayed.

You can edit the volume in Team Web Access 2010 . Opening a query in Excel works best for bulk editing of names, but if you are going to change, say, Area Path, TWA provides expandable / combined nodes in the hierarchy, while Excel just provides you with a drop-down menu of values.
