Personally, I would not start with Channel 9 or any textbooks on this issue. The most enjoyable way to jump into Kinect and start messing around with things is to install the Developer Toolkit . This was an update 3 days ago to include some really cool 3D cloud stuff. Download / install the toolkit, launch the Kinect Studio application that it comes with, and spend some time checking what Kinect is capable of. If you see something interesting, install it on your computer and open it in Visual Studio. If you don't have Visual Studio, you can download C # Express for free. The source code is very well commented, and I think the best way to learn is by example. You do not need to sit on channel 9, sometimes painful videos or spend time reading a blog, you can just jump and enjoy it. If you get stuck, go back to Channel9 or go back to the stack overflow.
