What does connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js do?

I am wondering what functions do all.js from facebook add to a similar button? - I'm trying to implement it and found a really good way, without even downloading the all.js file, it seems to work fine, it will be registered and anything ..

But is there something that I will miss? If I just have a simple button on my page?

You do not need all.js if you want to use only a similar function.

This feature is so popular that you use standalone plugins.

With all.js you can do a lot more. For example, telling stories on the wall of other people or gaining access to people's personal data if they agree.
