Spring Async not working

Question

Spring Async not working

We have an application written in spring 3.0. I noticed that @Async is not working. I searched and noticed that I need to add

<task:annotation-driven executor="myExecutor" scheduler="myScheduler"/> <task:executor id="myExecutor" pool-size="5"/> <task:scheduler id="myScheduler" pool-size="10"/>

But when I do this, I get an exception.

For @Async to work (I accept the annotation-based configuration), you need to do 2 things:

<task:annotation-driven/> in your configuration
Public method annotated with @Async

... and what about it.

Your exception does not mean that @Async not working. This indicates that there is a problem of autogrowth with the HomepageSrvImpl field.

This is an old question, but since it does not yet have and has not accepted the answer, we go.

The essence of the problem is how the @Async mechanism @Async . The hint for what is happening is this part of the stacktrace, in particular what is shown in bold:

Called: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: cannot set field package.srv.homepage.impl.HomepageSrvImpl package.mvc.controller.browser.LocationBrowserController.homepageSrvImpl up to $ Proxy24

What happens is that in order to intercept the call to the method marked with @Async , Spring needs to create a proxy for it.

As the user of “El Guapo” noted in another answer, you are probably declaring the attribute type autwired, not using the interface, but using the actual implementation. (note that the error in stackTrace does not specifically point to the object that is proxied, but to the object that should automatically have it as an attribute, but it still indicates troubleshooting in the right direction).

This works fine until you start using the @Async annotation because it forces the sprint to create a proxy server and not auto-install it.

I have not tested it, but I suppose this will happen with any other aspects. Spring should alternate your code with (e.g. @Transactional ).

I had the same problem ... I have a bunch of "IMPLS" differences that implement the interface I'm trying to make autwire, the problem was that I was doing the automation of the implementation, not the interface ... as soon as I started autowiring interface (with @Qaulifier) everything works A-OK !!!!

This section of the stack trace shows what the error is. The start page of the site SirvImpl must be an interface type of a non-specific class. If you cannot understand, add the definition of LocationBrowserController and HomepageSrvImpl - only the class and sections with auto-negotiation.

I am also leading the same issue.

Adding the proxy-target-class="true" attribute to <task:annotation-driven/> fixed for me. Now my definition is as follows:

 <task:annotation-driven executor="myExecuter" scheduler="myScheduler" proxy-target-class="true"/>

This solved the problem in my case (using Spring 3.1.1). See Using the @Transaction annotation with @Autowired - Spring for an explanation.
