Installing `numpy` in virtualenv on Ubuntu 11.10

When installing numpy using easy_install numpy I got the following exceptions: can anyone help? I use pip or easy_install , I have the same problems. It is hard to understand what is going wrong.

GCC may not be updating. I just compiled apt-get upgrade gcc and numpy .

You just need to use this command instead of easy_install. Worked for me

 sudo apt-get install python-numpy python-scipy
