I am writing a speech recognition program using cmu sphinx. To do this, get the .raw
audio file . How can I get voice from my microphone in raw format? For this, I thought. They say that I can read from /dev/dsp
, but I can not find this file / device. I'm on ArchLinux with alsa. Linux version 3.2.9-1-pae
.

Is there any other way to get a vote? Use GStreamer? Or can I use google api to get text by downloading an audio file? Any other tips are also welcome. Thanks you
