How to configure Irrlicht game engine in Xcode for ios deployment

I know that some people managed to do this, because in the application store there are many applications supported by irrlicht. I tried setting up an xcode project with all irrlicht sources and compiling and running for ios, but can't get it working. I am using irrlicht 1.7.3. Has anyone managed to do this, who would like to share how they did it?

I think they use http://www.rtsoft.com/wiki/doku.php?id=proton

which uses irrlicht.
