Since there is currently no complete solution for creating a modX-enabled website with an integrated store, I wondered what the path would be to achieve this with a third-party cart.
The integration in the interface should be very close, so you cannot distinguish parts from modx with parts (baskets, product lists, product views), and everything should work without handling heavy js. On the other hand, it would be perfectly normal to manage content in the modX database and products in the backend of baskets, independently of each other.
There should be a convenient way for i18n and a wide range of (international) payment methods, everything should work on its own equipment, and it would be nice to use an open source basket. In addition, it would be a big plus if commercial software were well-suited for selling digital goods.
A pretty long wish list, I know, but I expect that combining modX with something as powerful as Magento, XtCommerce, Opencart or like would be a really good way to implement a large website with an integrated store.
I am absolutely ready to spend a lot of time on integration, Iโm just very not sure if there is something that can be considered as a way to implement such a project.
