What is the most used and flexible SMTP client library in C / C ++?

I’m looking for a crowd source because it’s hard for me to find an industry standard library for SMTP in C / C ++.

I am looking for the opportunity to send emails with various MIME formats and attachments. I would rather not reinvent the wheel by writing a thinly veiled library. But I would also like to include it in my software without problems with odd licensing.

I read this article: What RFCs to consider when developing an SMTP client? , in relation to relevant RFCs, and I'm looking at RFCs too.

My personal favorite is VMime , only for C ++, but the highly ad libcurl also supports SMTP (as well as many other features).

VMime has a dual license ; I think curl has a kind of MIT style license.

libquickmail contains all the necessary functions. It supports things like multiple alternative bodies and attachments.
