One use is when you cache or store the graph of an object (for example, in the ASP.NET cache). If you do not keep the entire schedule, you will not be able to find information about an individual object. Of course, you can reconnect objects, but this will probably still be a new access to the database.

If you do not want to upload your collections, you will need to touch each of them to trigger a lazy selection. In these cases, more efficient sampling is much more useful.
