Add credential web link hints with the Credential Discovery dialog box but will not accept valid credentials

I am trying to add a web link to my ASP.Net 3.0 project. This is a link to the SQL Server Reporting Services Web service. I checked that the service was up and running, but when I try to add a web link to my project, I am prompted to enter the credentials that I entered, and then request again and again and again. I need to click Cancel to stop the vicious circle. When I do this, a service definition appears in the window, but the Add Link button is disabled, so I cannot add a link to my project.

I have limited knowledge of SQL Reporting Services configurations. If anyone knows how to solve this problem, I would really master it.

I returned to this code after a long weekend, and it just mysteriously worked this time. There are no tips for linking to a web service. This makes me think that some configuration on the server was changed and / or the server was rebooted. Not sure if this actually explains anything.
