How to prevent Pharo from executing the # startUp class method?

I added the startUp method to one of my classes, which immediately leaves my image. Is there a way to prevent Faro from performing this method so that I can fix it?

No, this is a matter of ongoing discussion. See this post on the Pharo mailing list.

The only way to recover the image is to hack into the virtual machine, which I describe here here . If you go this route, use a stacked virtual machine instead of JIT (the same thread explains why further down).
