I solved this ... link: http://daraizetechnologies.blogspot.in/2011/06/how-to-mount-sdcard-in-android-emulator.html contains a step-by-step guide on this issue .. I had to create new sd card image and, than in the launch configuration, I gave the path to this SD card, and now I can put the files on the SD card. This link was helpful.

You need to provide permission for your application to write to an external SD card. It doesnโ€™t matter that you are in the โ€œemulatorโ€, the IS Android emulator, so it must have the same rights as on the real device. Add this line to your manifest ...

<uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" />

And you will be fine.

I had the same problem; The reason is that the sdcard was not set to size.

By opening the "Android Virtual Device Manager" and editing the device, I can change the size of the SD card, or at least make sure that it is not blanc (since this was my problem). After saving the changes and rebooting the emulator, and in my case alse Eclipse, the read / write permissions were set correctly, and I could add files to the SD card in the emulator.

Make sure you add SDCard to your emulator. Thus, you must ensure that your AVD must have SD Card Support - yes

I got an unpleasant external SD read / write error in Android. The work was related to checking file errors: I pulled out an SD card on my Windows phone and the error disappeared!
