I am struggling to find a VS between emacs and sublime text.
The only difference I found is that it is easier to use sublime text. I'm not interested in lightness, but efficiency. I watched a bunch of emacs videos and it seemed really effective, played with it a bit, but didn't really dig into it, as I found a lot of people talking about sublime text.
Also am I on windows, emacs is the same as on ubuntu, or is it limited in some way?
I am thinking about C ++ programming with it. (I also saw people using emacs to view / publish to HN, how do they do this?).
Thank you!
EDIT:
Since this topic has been closed (unrighteously) and still raises questions, here is my answer:
- Emacs does not work well on windows.
- Sublime Text 2 works on linux, mac, windows perfectly
- Sublime Text 2 has a package manager, very easy to install plugins
- Sublime Text 2 is awesome and easy to learn. See the free tutsplus guide.
- Ditch emacs.
