I understand that this is Google. Sorry, I do not know the name the chart I'm looking for. Therefore, I cannot do a reasonable search for plugins or APIs. Please be kind.

What is called this type of chart?

What I want to do: Draw a diagram similar to the one below in a web browser, given the input as a list of "sizes". Preferably using jQuery plugin or javascript API.

This is called a tree. You can play multiple JavaScript libraries. Here is a couple:

• D3.js

Note: D3 is actually rewriting Protovis.
