Include microsecond timestamps in log4j logging?

Is it possible to have timestamps in microseconds in log4j logging? This on linux runs Java 1.6.

We have several servers next to each other (local network synchronization with the same NTP server), and I would like to have microseconds in the log lines.

If log4j does not offer this, does the log do?

Log4j does not include microsecond precision timestamps. At present, the journal does not include microsecond precision timestamps, but probably future versions of the journal.
