Where is the Windows 4.5 download package located?

Just got the source files for the installation project that I'm trying to run, and I get this warning:

WARNING: The Windows Installer 4.5 prerequisite could not be found in the path 'c: \ Program Files \ Microsoft SDK \ Windows \ v6.0A \ Bootstrapper \'

I check and of course there is no folder for installer 4.5, as the warning says. I google and find out that I cannot download it separately, but it is supposedly included in the Visual Studio distribution.

Ok ... I am launching VS 2008, and this is not. I also looked at another computer on which I recently installed VS 2008, and it does not exist either.

Does anyone know where I can get it?

There is an odd problem that the Windows SDK version 7 bootable media. Right-click the "Settings", "Properties", "Prerequisites" project. Does it really appear on the list? Check 3.1 instead of 4.5 if this happens.

Googling "Windows Installer 4.5" appeared http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8483 . This is apparently a common problem that affects other redistributable components that point to this directory.

The 6.0 SDK is for Vista, which comes with the Windows Installer 4.0. Version 4.5 is distributed by Microsoft as an update.

You can try installing the 7.0 SDK. This is for Windows 7, which comes with the installer for Windows 5.0. Thus, it includes the Windows Installer 4.5 preinstallation package.

Basically, when the 6.0 SDK was released, the Windows 4.5 installer did not exist.
