Unable to upgrade from Xcode 4.2 to 4.2.1

Question

I am trying to upgrade from Xcode 4.2 (4D199) to Xcode 4.2.1 (4D502). In the AppStore, when I try to install a new version, it says that I already have Xcode installed, and instead I should use Software Update. When I launch Software Update, it says that all applications are updated.

Any clues?

Use the App Store on the Apple menu. Type "Xcode" in the search field. Click "INSTALL" under the Xcode icon.

Delete xcode completely (delete all folders that have anything to do with it, except for the projects you want to save), then install.
