Good MP3 or OGG decoder written in C

Hey, I was looking for a good MP3 or OGG decoder that uses a BSD license or a public domain, and also lightweight (something that comes with sources without the need for a specific platform configuration).

Most likely, you will find it for mp3, as there are several problems.

OGG is just a container format that can contain audio, video, and more. Perhaps you mean ogg vorbis. Check out stb_vorbis . This is a free, publicly accessible C vorbis codec.

How is this one?

Xiph.org libvorbis is available on almost all distributions and meets your requirements for the BSD-3-Clause license. "Light" is always relative ... Libtremor, an integer vorbis decoder, is also available from Xiph.org.

As other answers have already been mentioned, Vorbis decoders exist. Fluendo MP3 decoder - MIT (BSD Simplified) License.
