How to access raw decoded audio using the built-in Windows mp3 decoder?

Since Windows Media Player 6.1, Windows has its own mp3 decoder. Can I use this decoder to access decoded audio (raw) data?

I guess this should be done with DirectShow.

A related but not the same question.

You can add a grabber sample to the chart after the mp3 decoder. The grabber sample allows you to set up a callback that is called when each sample passes through the media pipeline.

Your chart will look something like this:

mp3 file -> mp3 decoder -> sample grabber -> renderer
