Books / Guides on Clojure State-Related Issues

I'm interested in the Clojure state management part, but most books and manuals seem to focus on its LISP -ness.

Can you recommend a textbook or book that provides examples and analysis of links, vars and friends. I know there are a few pages about this at clojure.org, but they are a little too brief.

The Joy of Clojure contains an entire chapter called Mutation, which discusses the primitives of Clojure concurrency. It is quite comprehensive.

This article is a fairly detailed discussion of all the details around the various sections of state management available in Clojure. It is quite old (applies to Clojure 1.0), but higher-level parts are still valid.

The Hickey-Talk "We're still there" is worth a look (the corresponding part starts at minute 50): http://www.infoq.com/presentations/Are-We-There-Yet-Rich-Hickey
