Where is SSAS going?

I'm just wondering if I was one of the few people in the world using SSAS or is it common in IT? Here so few people post SSAS questions and answers. Right now I am having a problem creating a Data Mining Dimension (the drop-down name of the model is empty), and when I'm Google, I get 4 results. MS did not include it in SQL Server 2010, is it going away? Do people use PowerPivot instead?

SSAS will stay. Microsoft has a level 3 strategy for BI:

  • Personnal BI
  • BI team
  • Organizational BI

PowerPivot is designed for both Personnal and Team, but SSAS is clearly located in the Organizationnal slot. Here you can read everything:
