How to get iPhone 4.x simulator in xcode 4.2?

I installed xcode 4.2. In the toolbar, diagrams, only the iPhone / iPad 5.0 simulator is shown. what should i do to see other platforms like 3.0, 4.2, etc.

Go to the "Settings" → "Downloads" section, where you can download older versions of the simulator. It only offers 4.3, but I doubt older versions are available for Xcode 4.2.

Edit: It seems that there is no official information about this, but many users in the Dev Forums claim that the old simulators are really not supported with Xcode 4.2.

You cannot easily. I jumped over a package of debugging symbols in the settings -> Downloads will do it, but no.
