Why is jython slow?

Hi guys: Jython performance is usually critical as slow - is there a specific reason for this? Or is it just a modern myth ... And most importantly ... What is the future of Jython and how aggressively is it developing? Will the ability of a script in python against the JVM be sufficient enough to be used in native mode?

Jython 2.5.2 was released in March and is included in its release notes for release 2.5.2 . 2 runs the bestseller test 3 times faster, and the pystone benchmark is 20% faster than 2.5.1.

Here is a recent jython 2.5.2 test running on jvm 7 where jython is slower than Pypy but faster than Cpython. Take from him what you tests

At that moment, when it is more than possible to use, there are several new interesting projects, such as Sikuli , which demonstrate their strength.

I was looking for recent speed comparisons with Jruby, but I no longer found recent comparisons than 2008/2009.
