I read the “Tomcat 6 Developer's Guide” written by Damonar Chetty, and in the main chapter he says:
Setting both values to true will deploy the application at startup, and then again after starting Tomcat. As a result, make sure that you set at least one of them to false to avoid over-deploying the same web application.
So, I set autoDeploy, deployOnStartup and unpackWARs to true, and then enter the war in the APPBASE folder and debug the deployment process, but tomcat just deploys the war in response to the host start event. There is no deployment in the autoDeploy batch event. I think this is because after the first deployment, nothing has changed, and what Demonner Chetti says is wrong.
