Android emulator screen on boot screen

I am starting Android development using the latest android and eclipse SDKs. I followed the Hello Android tutorial and used every combination of available targets, but the emulator freezes on the boot screen with the β€œandroid” blinking.

I checked another related question and DID wait about 15 minutes. but still no change. Any help with this would be great. Thanks.

I had a similar problem, and sometimes I do it today. Have you tried removing AVD and then re-creating it?

Also try changing some of the AVD values, give it a larger ram, a larger SD card. You can do this through Window> Android SDK and AVD Manager> Change AVD, and then add values / resize the SD card.

EDIT: Also, just for reference, I have an Intel Core i7 with 16GB RAM and AVD STILL to boot forever.

EDIT: Another useful thing is to know that if you check the "Snapshot" box when editing AVD, it will save the last state and load, not a full [slow] download. It looks like your computer is asleep.

Adding values / resizing an SD card might be better. Try not to close the Android emulator to avoid re-opening.

Yah android emulator takes time to start, but it should start within 2-3 minutes. Check your RAM and processor. RAM should be at least 1 GB (preferably more) to speed up the loading of the emulator.
