RS2008 Background Size Setting

So, I'm trying to create a report that can pre-populate the “government form” of Reporting Services 2008.

Now it all falls to 96 DPI questions that seem to have.

Say I have a 300 DPI high resolution JPG file that I want to use as a background image for a report. (This jpg is actually a validation form of the government I'm trying to fill out)

When you set the Fill option to a rectangle object (or even the entire report body), you do not have an option, but for it this is the original size. It seems that the image cannot be proportional to the size of my rectangle.

If I add an image as ... an "image object" - I get my desired shock horror - because I can choose the "fit proportional" size option, and then resize my image object as I wish.

BUT - you cannot overlay text fields on top of an image object. And since my image object contains fields that I am trying to populate from a dataset, it does not work.

Any ideas?

Good, so I managed to figure it out.

For those who are interested, read this guide and run the SAMPLE PROJECT program for an example (do not pay attention to things related to showing / hiding high / low resolution versions). I just used this example to see how they could overlay text fields on image streams).

You need to keep track of the parents of the objects. Keep these notes in mind;

The page_1 rectangle must have a parent BaseRectangle.

Page_1_Image must have a parent BaseRectangle.

All text fields of page1 must have a parent element of the rectangle Page_1, etc.

Now everything makes sense.
