VSHost.exe continues to work in VS2010

I work in VS2010 with a solution with a large number of projects, and it constantly becomes immune.

One thing that I noticed, which may be the key, is that MyApplicationName.vshost.exe constantly appears in the process list, even though I did not start debugging. Can this happen whenever assembly occurs?

I do not start the application from VS at all. I just execute it from the bin directory.

Killing the vshost.exe process often causes VS2010 to become responsive again.

Any ideas why this process may continue to arise?

In the project properties, try unchecking the Debug tab:

  • Enable Visual Studio Hosting Process
