Where can I download old versions of Xcode?

Question

I can download current versions of Xcode and other resources from Apple Developer Center (s), but where can I download older versions?

In particular, I am looking for the latest old Xcode

• Sign in to developer.apple.com .
• Click the Resources link at the top of the page.
• In OS X, click Downloads .
• Uncheck the box except for Developer Tools on the left side of the page and enter Xcode in the search field. All versions of Xcode will be listed and paginated.

Go to the iOS development center (iOS will provide you with Xcode and tools for the iPhone, if I'm not mistaken) The Mac Development Center will probably work too.

Scroll down to DOWNLOAD Xcode 4.4.1. You will see: “Looking for an older version of Xcode? Download”

Xcode 3.2.x is documented once for OS X 10.6.x (Snow Leopard). As far as I know, Xcode 3.1.4 is the latest version of Xcode for OS X 10.5. Although it seems to be hidden, I found that you can get to the old links for this if you are registered on the Apple Developer Connection website using this link:

http://connect.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MemberSite.woa/wa/downloads

and then go to the "Developer Tools" section and scroll to the download link "Xcode 3.1.4". I'm not sure why Apple did it to find old things. Perhaps they are trying to get people to join the paid Mac Developer program?

UPDATE: I see that this is the same link that Evan ultimately prompts. They could make the links a little more obvious, especially from the Xcode page itself!

• Go to Apple dev Portal (Login required) - Additional Files Section https://developer.apple.com/download/more/
• Find the appropriate version of Xcode.
• Expand the line and click the download link

You can also determine the latest release that works on any given version of MacOS.

I do not think that in any case, you can download an older version. I bet the site you use was made when xcode 3.1.4 was the newest version. You can try to find torrents of the xcode version you want, but it may be dead, because the desired version is older.

Why do you need 3.1.4 instead of 3.2.6? Does 3.2.6 work with Leopard?
