Remove ipython mac os x

I just installed the new ipython 0.11 on Mac OS X from sources. Unfortunately, it turned out that it lacks backward compatibility with previous versions, so all the scripts I need do not work. After that I installed the 0.10 version of ipython from macports, hoping that it will replace the current one (yes, maybe it was not a good idea - everything became even more complicated). But this is not the case, and my scripts are still using ipconon version 0.11

The only thing I need is to get my scripts to work. Therefore, I need to somehow remove iPython v.0.11 or make version 0.10 preferred for use

Thanks for any help!

pip uninstall ipython can remove it.

Otherwise, you will have to find the files and delete them. At the online prompt, do:

 >>> import IPython >>> IPython

Which should show you where it was imported from.

Remember to run pip as the root or:

  sudo pip uninstall ipython

Without sudo, this did not work for me.
