Include LaTeX formulas in HTML files?

I have seen that some sites include LaTeX formulas on their sites. How do they do it?
Is there any HTML tag or maybe an SSI command to enable LaTeX formulas?
I prefer having a server command rather than a client command. Some clients do not have a LaTeX compiler.

Thanks in advance

MathJax is a possible solution. This is a client-side solution (Javascript) compatible with LaTeX syntax.

I think MathTran provides online outsourcing of your LaTeX files, which you can later embed in your HTML code (pretty much Google Chart tools)

Depending on the configuration of your server (i.e. assuming you can install what you want), if LaTeX files do not change often, you can easily schedule (say) LaTeX → PNG rendering (a lot of information on the Internet about how do this) and combine the resulting PNG.

The last option (but the simplest), if you have server limitations (say, a shared host), you can just display LaTeX offline and download the result.
