I want to send an email from an emulator. How to configure the emulator?

first add an account through accounts and sync. Then just configure the default email client in the emulator.

Emulator images do not contain gmail and market applications (and I think some others). This is a common problem.

I think that you can get several APKs and install them, but from what I know is not legal - the Google license does not allow running this software on an emulator. Therefore, although this may work, it may be illegal for you.
