How to save log tail on Heroku using ssh?

Using heroku logs --tail , which works great for a few minutes. Then it stops displaying the logs. It looks like the ssh connection is syncing and dying. No error or message. Works in Ubuntu 11.04 on a wired connection.

I added the following to ~ / .ssh / config:

ServerAliveInterval 5

But that did not work. Is anything else needed in the configuration file? How to find out what he is doing? How can I track traffic and view keepalive request? I look at System Monitor, but I see nothing every 5 seconds.

Thanks.

Turns out I was looking for the answer to the wrong question. Why use tail to save logs? This is problematic, time consuming and error prone.

I found a Papertrail solution. Small sites are free. papertrailapp.com.

Here is the full story from my blog: http://www.onlineinvestingai.com/blog/2011/08/07/better-logging-with-papertrail-on-heroku/

You did all this:

 $ heroku config:add LOG_LEVEL=DEBUG $ heroku addons:upgrade logging:expanded $ heroku logs --tail

I saw the same problem. I am not sure if it is ssh that time, but is doing something. So far we have placed our monitor in a loop so that it automatically resumes in case of a timeout.

We also use PaperTrail, however, it has limits in the amount that you can transfer. We use PaperTrail for general use and bind magazines to excrutiating-detail magazines, which quickly use the entire available PaperTrail capacity.
