Joomla - how can I create new types of content in joomla

I am new to joomla. I have been using Drupal for some time.

I would like to create new types of content for news and announcements. How can I create a new content type in Joomla without installing a new module.

You came from Drupal, so I think that what you are looking for and cannot find in Joomla is similar to the CCK (Content Construction Kit)

Unfortunately, this is not available by default in Joomla. You must use extensions to create new content types containing specific fields.

I would say the same, for me I always use k2, as it integrates with many plugins and modules, also with rich content formats

As per @Ahmad's answer, install CCK to add new content types.

In your case, however, the built-in Joomla functions may be sufficient, for example, to create content categories for news and announcements, as well as to select options or menu modules.

While K2 is a great CCK, there is a table called "jos_content_types" that makes me think that joomla can also handle content types. With different views, form-xml files, etc.

But I still have not found any document on the creation of new types of content. Does anyone have more information on how to create a new type of content? Or is it just a new component we need to create?
