Is there a way to save ".". file using NSSavePanel without MacOS warns me?

I am working on a cocoa project. My project uses the settings menu and includes the ability to save a set of preferences as ".". file (hidden files such as .rvmrc or .vimrc). The problem is that after bringing up the NSSavePanel and clicking the "Save" button, it pops up and reminds me that "." reserved for the system, which is not very cool.

Is there any way to prevent this OS prompt from starting?

Thanks!

You can subclass or make an NSSavePanel category and override

-[NSSavePanel _legalNameCheck:]

AFAIK, checking the point name is all this procedure.
