CSS equivalent of <big>

What is the CSS equivalent of the <big> element? If I'm not mistaken, then wrapping the text in the <big> element does not coincide with setting a larger font-size .

Google Chrome says:

 big { font-size: larger; }

This should be appropriate CSS. In any case, do not use tags of type big , as they contradict the rule, which states that HTML should be used to describe the content, and not the appearance. You can go for something like:

 <span class="important-text">My important text</span>

And use this in CSS:

 span.important-text { font-size: larger; }

What is the correct form, whereas

 <big>My important text</big>

wrong.

it

 <span style="font-size:larger">...</span>

W3C says :

BIG : Renders text in a large font.

Therefore, setting a larger font size should be good.
