How to use the Visual Studio 2010 project template that I created

I followed the steps on MSDN to create the template. I created a new project in VS2010, and then used the File-> Export Template ... option to create my template. I went through the wizard, and everything seemed to make sense. I left only the default output location (this was:

... Documents \ Visual Studio 2010 \ My Exported Templates \ MyProject.zip)

and I left automatic template import in Visual Studio. I see the exported zip file (and I tried moving the copy:

Documents \ Visual Studio 2010 \ Templates \ ProjectTemplates \ Visual C #

folder. But when I start a new instance of VS2010 and use File-> New Project, I do not see my template. I expected that in addition to RecentTemplates / Installed Templates / Online Templates I can get a new category for user templates . Otherwise, I thought it might be in the Installed Templates section, but there is nothing new. Where should my template appear? Did I miss a step?

Spirit, He worked, I just did not know where to look. I would pick up a new project template and search all leaf nodes. Turns out I needed to click the Visual C # root in the tree view (it looks like it is not in any of the leaves). This always calls me up in tree views, I never expect root to have options, not to mention the only place where there is an option. enter image description here

I think you need to restart (exit and start again) your visual studio!
